Steps to Setup a guest network.
Often times, the internet service provider (ISP) would guide through the setup process. However, the employees can setup a guest network by following the below mentioned steps:
a) Logging into the Router Interface:
1. Access the gateway.
1.1 Open a web browser on the device connected to your Gateway network.
1.2 In the browser address field (URL), enter: http //192.168.l.l
2. A login screen will appear:
3. Enter your password and select OK.
If this is the first login the password, the default password can be located on the backside of the router.
4. Select “Wireless Settings” from the Menu.
5. Select “Guest Wi-Fi Settings” from the subsequent Menu.
b) Setting up Guest Wi-Fi for the First Time SSID and Password
1. Select “Edit” to change your Guest Wi-Fi SSID.
2. Enter the SSID and password in the appropriate window (highlighted below).
3. Select “Save”
4. In order to turn the Guest Wi-Fi on, select the ON position for the on/off toggle.
c) Changing your SSID and/or Password
1. Select Guest Wi-Fi.
2. Select Edit on the screen.
Note: Password should be changed often to reduce the possibility of unauthorized access.
3. Enter the SSID and password in the appropriate window.
4. Select Save.
5. To turn the Guest Wi-Fi off, select the “off” position for the on/off toggle.
IMPORTANT: Guest WI-FI should be turned “off” during non-business hours to reduce the possibility of unauthorized access.
d) Determine Which Devices Are Accessing the Wi-Fi Network.
1. To see what devices are connected to the Guest Network, verify “Guest Wi-Fi” is selected under the Main headings.
2. Click on the “Guest Devices” Tab. Below you will find all devices that are currently connected.
Note: A device can easily be disconnected by sliding the “On/Off” toggle switch to the “OFF” position.
